I have been quoted as saying that I don t like vampire stories. Well, my friend Rachel just went and changed that fact. I came back from a convention with this tucked under my arm and found it a delightful read.
GLASS HOUSES is a young adult novel about a sixteen year old girl who got into college early because of her smarts. Problem is, since she is so young her parents wouldn't let her go far, so she s stuck in a small college town that no one seems to have heard much about. Good reason for that--the town is run by vampires. Claire might be small and ignorant to certain very deadly facts, but she s scrappy and learns fast. After a girl in the dorm pushes her down a flight of stairs deliberately, Claire finds a house off campus where two young men and a young lady need the help of added rent money. Ahh, they need more help than that as it turns out, because none of them have much protection from the local vampires and Claire has accidentally made their situation worse.
Ooo, this is a fun fast read with yummy [ghostly] secrets that explode at the end. Hey Rachel, I want that next book!!!
