Miles and cousin Ivan, go to the Cetaganda home planet to attend a state funeral but through circumstance, happenstance and Miles' innate ability to find trouble, they become enmeshed in a satrap governor's attempt to usurp the Cetagandan gene pool. How will Miles save the day this time? With his wits of course.
Even knowing that Miles would save the day again, didn't detract from this being a great, entertaining story. Miles is the man we'd all like to be - minus the physical deformities of course - quick of wit and ever with a plan (even if it changes path mid stream) and presented with Ms. Bujold's smooth, fast moving style, his adventures are always a joy to unfold.
**Note** I'd not recommend reading Miles' adventures back to back to back, as his genial, fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants prowess can actually begin to wear on your nerves.
