Dr. Ethan Urquhart, of the Severin District Reproduction Center on the planet Athos, must proceed off planet to Kline Station (his first off world experience), in an effort to ascertain who sabotaged their shipment of ovarian cultures. Of course, being from a male only planet, whose spiritual dogma paint females as wanton corrupters of men, will only make the trip to the sexual integrated space station all the more of an adventure. But onward Ethan must go, for the good of his fellow men...and into the teeth of interstellar intrigue.
Lightweight but entertaining entry in the "Miles Vorkosigan" universe, which touches lightly upon sexuality, homophobia, preconceptions and religious morals. Not quite as engaging in plotline or in protagonist(s) as others in the series.
