Three excellent Miles Vorkosigan stories, tied together by an exterior storyline.
I've read quite a few books in my time and have enjoyed many varied styles of both content and storytelling. But few, and I'm tempted to say none, write an intelligent, humanistic, action/adventure story as well as Ms. Bujold. Her characterizations are phenomenal, pacing excellent, action sequences smooth as silk, and morality pliable enough to ring true.
I'm sure there are people out there who wouldn't enjoy this book, but I'd be damned if I could understand why.
VERY highly recommended.
